Sky Garden | El Paso Event Photographer
This is one of my favorites from last night’s event at the Plaza Theatre’s Sky Garden. It’s always a great moment when you see a visitor to our city stop and admire El Paso’s beauty.

Ring of Fire | El Paso Photographer
Yesterday’s annular solar eclipse was really a sight to see, kinda. As we sat in our living room ready to watch AMC’s The Killing and Mad Men, I noticed the light playing on our wall. Normally, the sun shines through our blinds as a line of discs on the wall. But yesterday’s light appeared as a series of interlocking rings. It was the same effect as when we poked a pinhole in a box to view the eclipse as schoolchildren.
Our neighborhood of Sunset Heights is aptly named for its year-round beautiful views of the the sunsets. I grabbed my gear and stepped onto my balcony to catch the moon blocking the sun just as it dipped into the horizon. Since I couldn’t look directly at the sun through the viewfinder, I stopped the aperture all the way down, pointed in the general direction of the blazing fireball and hoped for the best. The photo above was one of the captures. Pretty cool stuff.
Sunset Bike Ride | El Paso Photographer
El Paso has beautiful sunsets. That is a fact, as proven by this shot I captured while on a bike ride with friends on El Paso’s River Park Trail along the Rio Grande.

If you are looking for a great, safe bike path, I highly recommend you visit the River Park Trail System in the Upper Valley. It’s a cement trail built right on the banks of the Rio Grande and stretches for about 7 miles. It has plenty of rest areas with great views, fresh air and bridges spanning across small bays. Do it.
